Refractive errors currently affect one-third of the global population, or 2.5 billion people, a figure expected to rise to an estimated 5 billion by 2050. According to the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the productivity loss associated with visual impairment has been estimated at $244 billion worldwide.

Supported project

L'OCCITANE USA and the Foundation support Helen Keller International in her project "Child Sight". It consists in organizing screening in schools. If a child is diagnosed with a vision problem, the association and orthoptists will be able to prescribe glasses or corrective lenses which will be delivered to the school within two weeks. In addition, a survey will be carried out on the correlation between good eyesight and academic success. This information will be shared with the association and schools in order to raise awareness about eye health.
