Context

It is quite common nowadays for young children to have vision problems and as for the families who live in poor areas they certainly cannot afford to check their eyes, let alone buy glasses. Bad sight affects the children’s capability of reading and learning at school, therefore there is a big need to help the young and future generation.

Geographically, in Java there are still many young children from families who cannot afford to buy glasses.

Supported project

In 2020, L'OCCITANE Indonesia and the L'OCCITANE Foundation are supporting the Lions Club Jakarta Centennial Monas Kalea for its "20/20 Vision" project in Java.

The project aims to help young children from less fortunate families, covering various poor areas of Java, whom suffer visionary problems. The goal is to minimize the worsening of their eye sight  or even prevent unnecessary blindness, by giving free corrective lens (glasses).
