A major player in the forestry and wood industry, the National Forestry Office (ONF) employs nearly 9,000 professionals. In mainland France and in the French overseas territories, the ONF manages nearly 11 million hectares of public forests belonging to the State and to local authorities.

The French forest is an ecosystem with multiple resources. Protecting and managing forests sustainably, acting for the climate and ecological transition, contributing to the attractiveness and sustainable development of territories, means preserving our lives and those of future generations. This is the ambition of the ONF and its partners - forest communities, local authorities, the State and local associations.
