Context
Glaucoma is one of the leading causes of blindness in the world. According to the Turkish Ophthalmological Association, only 550,000 people are diagnosed with glaucoma, a quarter of all patients with the disease. Glaucoma irreversibly affects the optic nerve. Thus, the earlier the disease is detected, the easier it will be to provide adequate treatment to prevent blindness. Thus, a good diagnosis is the first step towards an appropriate treatment.
Supported project
In 2018-2019, L'OCCITANE Turkey and the Foundation supported the project of the Six Dots Foundation for the Blind. This project aimed to start the treatment of the patient by the help of correct and early diagnosis of glaucoma that takes place in the front rows as a reason for blindness both in the world and in Turkey, and it is also aimed to contribute to the protection of eye health by preventing the vision loss.
